How you to get to the Rachavadee Resort in Bankrut

The peaceful beach town of Bankrut is located about 380 Km. south of the Thai capitol Bangkok. To make the journey from Bangkok to Bankrut or from Hua Hin, Cha-am Chumpon, Krabi, Koh Tao, Surat Thani to Bankrut the safest and quickest, please consider below options

From Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport:

Suvarnabhumi airport transportSiam Resort Group limousines are available at the airport. The so-called limousines are in fact nicer Toyota Camry's with friendly English speaking, very experienced safe driving chauffeurs. These taxi's are most suitable for 2 persons with luggage. The current rate for a one way transfer from Suvarnabhumi airport to Ban Krut / Ban Saphan is 4100 baht. This rate includes toll for express- and tollways and all taxes. The ride will take between 5 and 6 hours, depending on traffic and number of stops along the way. Although there usually is one of these limousines on standby at the airport we strongly recommend to always book in advance to prevent disappointment after an exhausting flight of 12+ hours and the journey before that..

Public aircon buses. Take the free shuttle from the second floor of Suvarnabhumi airport to the bus terminal and get onto bus number 556 to the Southern Bus terminal. This ride can take anywhere between 1 and 2 hours, depending on traffic and time of day. After that, follow as per "from Bangkok by bus" below. Or, if you prefer to travel by train, take the AE4 Airport express bus to Hua Lamphong train station and continue as described below.

Standard taxi: If you or your partner speak Thai and knows how to get to the Rachavadee resort, you might be able to get a lower fare from one of the private taxi's at the taxi stand. Not many drivers will be willing to go (very slim chance of a return fare to Bangkok) and most likely none of them will know their way about after Hua Hin. Some of these taxi drivers are also famous for there extra short stops at Gem shops, Tailors or other businesses that offer small rewards or commissions.

From Bangkok to Bangkrut

Limousine: The so-called limousines are in fact nicer Toyota Camry's with friendly English speaking, very experienced & safe driving chauffeurs. These Bangkok Airport taxi's are most suitable for 2 persons with luggage. The current rate for a one way transfer from a downtown Bangkok hotel or other location to Ban Krut / Ban Saphan is 4000 baht. This rate includes toll for express- and tollways and all taxes. The ride will take between 5 and 6 hours, depending on traffic and number of stops along the way. From Suvarnabhumi airport to Ban Krut is 4200 baht.

Train: Catch the morning sprinter to Surat Thani at 08:05 from Hua Lamphon train station to arrive at Ban Krut station a little after 12:45. If you notified us on time, one of our people will be there to pick you up. If you haven't or are unable to locate her or him, please call us on the number on your voucher or the number below. If you miss the early sprinter or are unable to make that, there is another opportunity to depart at 15:35 and arrive at 22:25. Not only is this train much slower, it is also much less reliable in arrival times, so there is a good chance that you will be waiting for a while before pick up arrives. We recommend the early train or any of the buses. The Thailand Railway's hotline number is 1690. Up to date Timetables and fares can be found on http://www.railway.co.th/English

Bus: The most convenient of all buses is the one that is operated by the Ban Saphan Tour. It leaves from Bangkok's southern bus station at 12:30 and will not just drop you off at the highway: it even takes you the last 10km to the village. If this departure time in not convenient: There are hourly government buses departing from the southern bus station to Ban Saphan. Buy a ticket until Ban Krut and make sure that the driver knows you want to get off in Bang Krut. You will be dropped off next to the highway near the junction where we will pick you up. For the shortest waiting times pls. contact our reception when de bus departs from Bangkok. The southern bus station is now located on Phutthamonthon Soi 1 in the Taling Chan district in Bangkok.

Car: Find your way to Phetkasem highway (number 4) out of Bangkok or take the Rama 2 road shortcut. Rama 2 road meets up with Phetkasem Highway after 80 Km. Follow this road (passing all exits to Cha-am, Hua Hin and even continue past Prachuap Kiri Khan city) until you are near Kilometer marker 382. At this point you should be on the parallel road to be able to turn left at the junction. If you see the sign to Ban Krut on the pedestrian bridge while you are still on the middle lanes, you missed the exit. You can take two U-turns to get back or, if you are well acclimatized, you can just hit the brakes at back up on the shoulder, as most Bangkokians do.
